Street lights
Lancashire
County Council, as highway authority, is responsible for providing and
maintaining the majority of street lighting in Pendle - although some street
lights are maintained by Housing Pendle (external link). Apart from street lighting
columns (lamp posts), Lancashire County Council also maintains illuminated bollards,
illuminated traffic signs, pedestrian refuge beacons, school crossing
flashers (wigwags) and zebra crossing beacons.
Night scouts patrol the areas on a regular basis looking for faults, but you can also assist by reporting faults.
For more information, visit our pages about street lighting.
Online services: Complete an online form at the Lancashire County Council website to report a faulty street light.
Alternatively, please call Lancashire County Council's contact centre on 0845 053 0011.
Please have available:
- the name of the town or village
- the name of the road
- the number of the house that the column is outside or opposite (or general location)
- the number of the column (usually on a yellow sticker on the column)
- the nature of the fault (eg not lit, flashing, lit continuously, switching off early)
