Pollution control - noise
Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Council investigates complaints about excessive noise such as barking dogs and noise from industry and domestic dwellings. If the noise is considered to be a statutory nuisance, the Council can take action.
- If you wish to complain about noise from industry or a commercial property, please use the Environmental Health - Pollution contact below.
- If you wish to complain about noise from a barking dog or noisy neighbours please use the Neighbourhood Regulation Team contact details below and once we are invesigating your complaint and then the nuisance occurs on a Friday or Saturday evening you can call the Night-time Noise Service.
Availability
We are open office hours, Monday - Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
On Friday and Saturday evenings from 8 pm until 3am, you can use the night-time noise service to report a nuisance that we are currently investigating.
