Benefit - going into hospital
A person claiming benefits who is admitted to hospital must notify the local authority that deals with their claims for housing and council tax benefit.
Online services: Complete an electronic change of circumstances form.
Additional information: In most cases your benefit entitlement will have to be reassessed to take account of your new circumstances. Most benefits are reduced during a stay in hospital - usually after either four or six weeks.
