A to Z of services
Pest control
The Council carries out treatment to remove most household pests which are considered to be a risk to public health or food safety, such as rats, mice, bed bugs, fleas and cockroaches. These services are available to commercial and domestic properties. Please complete an online form above or contact us.
No charge is made for domestic treatments, except for the removal of wasps nests and the treatment of cluster flies, for each for which a payment of £30 is payable.
The same charge of £30 is also payable for the removal of wasps nests from commercial premises.
For commercial treatments for pest control an hourly charge of £47.45 plus vat is payable for commercial treatments plus the cost of poisons used.
Additional information: Honey bees are protected and under normal circumstances cannot be destroyed. If you think you have a honeybees nest you may arrange for a bee keeper to visit and remove it. See the Council's bees page for more information.
For cluster flies, in order that one treatment only is required we won't visit you before January,as usually by then all the flies are inside and we can get rid of them all in one go.
