Town twinning

Union Jack FlagPendle is twinned with Creil in France and Marl in Germany.

The link with Creil was formed more than 25 years ago and with Marl around five years ago. Creil and Marl are also twinned with each other, making it a three-way link.

The main reason for twinning is to promote cultural, artistic and educational contracts in other countries. Nelso & Colne College and a number of our schools and colleges in Creil and Marl.

Various societies and organisations in Pendle also team up regularly with their French and German counterparts. Pendle Twinning Association meets once a month at Nelson Town Hall. Membership is free.
