The following list gives just some of the organisations that offer help and support to the bereaved.

Pendleside Hospice

Pendleside Hospice provide counselling for those who are experiencing a bereavement. They support anyone from the age of 5 and up. You can be referred by any health care professional, relative or carer, or you can refer yourself. There is a self-referral form on the Pendleside Hospice website.

Cruse Bereavement Care

Cruse are a charity that provide bereavement care to anyone who has been affected by a death. They also run a Youth Involvement Project specifically to support young people (aged 12-18) after the death of someone close to them.

Samaritans

24-hour confidential emotional support for anyone in a crisis.

Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS)

This organisation offers support to those who've experienced suicide and has an informative leaflet for survivors.

Victim Support

This organisation offers a network of experienced volunteers in most parts of the UK to help victims of crime and their survivors.

Child Death Helpline

A telephone helpline based at Great Ormond Street Hospital that offers help and support to anyone affected by the death of a child. Run by parent volunteers who are supported by a professional team.

Supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement. Every year we train c. 6000 professionals, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families.
