Complaints - procedure
Complain About a Pendle Council Service
Sometimes things go wrong - and it helps us to know about it. We welcome the chance to put things right as soon as we can. We are also keen for comments and suggestions for improving our services. The Council has a formal complaints system that will operate after you have asked the Council to remedy a problem and you are not satisfied with the way the Council dealt with it.

Complain About the Behaviour of a Councillor
A complaint about the conduct of a Pendle Councillor, or about a Pendle Parish or Town Councillor, must be made to the Standards Committee.
You can find full details of how to complain in our Comments and Complaints section.
The Standards Committee
The Standards Committee is a group of people appointed to help maintain and promote high ethical standards. It is made up of Pendle Councillors, independent people (who are not councillors or employees of the Council) and representatives of the Parish and Town Councils in Pendle.
The Local Government Ombudsman
If you are not satisfied with the Council's response to your complaint you may complain to the Local Government Ombudsman.
Leaflets explaining the function and process of the Ombudsman, together with complaints forms, are available from any Council office, direct from the Ombudsman's office or to download from the Local Government Ombudsman's website.
