Deaths - historical searches
Archives are original documents produced by official bodies, societies and individuals that are no longer in current use. Lancashire Records Office (LRO) looks after historic documents relating to the county from about 1115 AD to the present day.
Archived information can be used for tracing your family history, discovering the history of your house, checking certain legal rights, obtaining official certified copies of many local church baptisms and marriages (birth and death certificates are only obtainable from Register Offices).
They accept as deposits a wide range of documentary material from various sources. The documents are made available to visitors and other enquirers through lists, catalogues and indexes.
